- AceTax Windows is built so that you can prepare your return with the least amount of input. To achieve that, AceTax's Forms are built to show only lines that require your input. Everything else is automatically calculated.
- Follow these simple steps and you will see how easy it is to prepare a tax return on your own.

- Download AceTax For Windows
- Run the downloaded executable to install AceTax on your PC
- Once installed start AceTax from Start / All Programs / AceTax 2011 / AceTax 2011

|
- Use this page to add upto 20 tax returns
- To switch between Tax Returns, click on the Tax Returns tab and select the person you want to prepare the return for. You can either double-click on the line or click on the line and select Edit
- Payment is only required for Tax returns that have the total family income exceeding 25,000
- Click on 'Add New Tax Return' if nothing is shown in the list, or click on the Edit button to edit an existing Tax return

- Enter all your family's personal details in the Identification section
- If you received any Slips (T4, T3, etc..) collect them all together to be input
- Select from the list: Slips, Schedules, Provincial forms & other Forms that you want to fill out

- Click on 'Next' or 'Previous' buttons to navigate through pages, the details on the page will be saved automatically
- You can also navigate through the menu on the left
- Enter all the details in each form
- Acetax will prompt you if there are mandatory entries that you missed during preparation of your return

- Enter all the details in each form
- Click on 'Save' if you need to save the information midway and then continue to input on the same page
- AceTax will prompt you if there are mandatory entries that you missed during preparation of your return
- After you have entered all the information, click on Calculate to create your TAX and PDF files
- Don't worry about missing information, AceTax will prompt you if there are any errors found or if you missed anything
- You will be shown your result either a Refund or Balance owing

- You will have to purchase a licence if your Total Family income is greater than $25,000.
- Click on the 'Purchase Licence' button to launch the AceTax payment screen on your browser. You will need an Internet connection to purchase the licence
- The payment is higly secure protected through SSL and there will not be any private information passed through to the payment screen
- Once licence is purchased click on the 'Install Licence button' to find the Licence file downloaded from the website and install it
- Click on the PDF file button to open and review the return in Adobe Acrobat Reader. Acrobat Reader is available free of charge from Adobe Acrobat

- If you are going to file your return using the NETFILE service:
- Click on 'CRA:Ready to file' to go to CRA's site to upload your TAX file
- You should have an Access code that CRA provided to you for filing your return through NETFILE. You can apply online with CRA, if you do not have one
- In CRA's NETFILE transmission page, in step 2, copy the file path for the TAX file shown on AceTax and paste in on the box beside the Browse button
- Save the PDF and the TAX file in a secure location for your records

- AceTax can be used for NETFILE or Paper filing. NETFILE can be used in all cases
except for the ones specified in certain cases. Please view FAQ on AceTax's NETFILE Restrictions
